The final part with the catfishing is definitely my favorite part. I think because it is number five in a series of stories so it heavily relies on knowledge of other stories. This is again one of the weaker stories for me. Thank god they got an actual woman to narrate Veronica. And the music was a bit too CLIMAX for the final line. There are a couple of lines that are too on the nose (if someone moved in Mrs. I do enjoy this one but it is the bottom half of the stories for me. The ending with the cries of a cat is awful. It is also where Josh becomes more of a target. It isn't until you have heard the whole series that it becomes clear what it is. The big one for me is the hole dug in the forest. It is also one of the best to relisten to. I think it is the creepiest of the stories. This might be my favorite part of Penpal. He is also scared because he thinks he will get in terrible. He doesn't want to tell his mom because she is in a bad mood. I do like how the writer captured how a child would feel about that. Man, this was the good ol' days of snow cones and playing in ditches. Then again, many of the stories happen nearly consecutively. If nothing else, I think the being good at "spelling my name" wouldn't stick out so much. I have always wondered if the series would be better is presented in chronological order. So is balloons the start of the stalking? It seems like it would be. How terrible must it be to be in the "Community" group instead of space or oceans. I do find it odd that the mom didn't notice the name being spelled wrong but I guess the narrator was young.īalloons. The ending is a bit cheesy but it still sends a chill up my spine.
